Hunza Valley, our origin
The Hunza Valley is located in the north of Pakistan, one of the two political entities of Kashmir that are under the control of that Asian country. The curious thing about this valley, beyond the spectacular mountains that surround it, lies in the people who inhabit it. Some people who have been the subject of many studies and who seem to be the possessors of a secret longed for by many: eternal youth. They have a Caucasian appearance and have undergone several genetic studies to try and establish links with other Caucasian populations.
The Hunza say they live to be 110-120 years old, it is said that they get rather ill and have a very young appearance. At first glance, 40-year-old women seem almost teenagers, and it is even said that up to 65 years of age they give birth. Well it seems that everything lies in their diet. In summer they eat raw fruits and vegetables; in winter, dried apricots, sprouted grains and pecorino cheese, according to Marketium. In addition, they bathe in cold water.
Hunza is located at 2,400 meters of altitude, in a border area between Kashmir, China, India and Afghanistan, and is divided into two tribes, the 'wakhi' and the 'burusho'.
The Hunza, the tribe that does not age, reality or myth?
Hunza is a special town, as they have the highest literacy rate in the area, and women have a very important role since their mission is to store and preserve food. The Hunza are Muslims although their women do not usually wear their faces covered.
